The hotel served its purpose and provided a great location, although the noise was disturbing due to ongoing operations and the rooms need refurbishment and redecoration. The staff were friendly and accommodating, assisting us in moving to a suite room with an additional bed at an extra charge. However, there was a misunderstanding regarding the room type reservation. The location was perfect for us, being close to the center but not within it, and offered additional help beyond regular services. The dining experience was inconsistent, with some meals being exceptional while others were overpriced and disappointing. The hotel facilities overall met basic needs but require improvement.
I stayed at Garden View Cottages for 3 nights in one of their Deluxe suites. The rooms are beautiful with big balcony bathrooms, but they really let us down. The service was super friendly, and the hotel was comfortable and very tidy, offering good tour packages or a driver with a car for the day. The location is great, close to the monkey forest and Ubud market place, but there was an overcrowded situation. The dining experience was delicious, although a bit of a joke as my extra egg cost me. Overall, the hotel has some positives and negatives to consider.
